"Safety and Defensive Driving Techniques" with Skidcar is made for the first time in Turkey at Autodrom.

There are 3 basic principles of this training program. First one of these is to teach and explain the importance of safe and defensive driving techniques to drivers, the other one is to show the mistakes made in the traffic in a safe place with demonstrations and make the personal skills improve, and another one is to increase the ability of driving on different grounds and prevent the possible accidents.

In the training the drivers are taught how to drive safer on wet grounds not faster and defensive driving techniques are explained to prevent from possible accidents.

In the training AUTODROM's SKIDCAR training cars with manuel and automatic options are used and the participants are made exercises at the stations in order.

Skid Car is electronically controlled mobile chassis with its electro-mechanic controlled hydraulic cylinders mounted at four sides underneath the car. System is moving with the car, simulating five different grips and road conditions.

Trainer simulates light rain, heavy rain, new snow, hard snow and icy road conditions with the control panel during the training. This road conditions activate security systems on the car such as ABS, ESP.

Driver practices end feels all the running systems one by one. System simulates the loss of control at 60 km/h - 80 km/h at a speed like 20 km/h and security is priory.

Like in other training programs, Skidcar don't need chemicals or any other material on the road for different grips. Skidcar is environment friendly. The risks coming with the speed and loss of control are simulating with actual grip.

SKIDCAR - Safety and Defensive Driving Techniques Programme

Depart & accelerate on slippery surface
On rainy and snowy conditions, grip is becoming extremely low. The results of the ruined slopes, lateral forces which can make the car move sideways without control is explained and the appropriate techniques are practically shown.

Braking on dry & slippery surface
Feint (weight transfer), the change of the braking distance (two times more on slippery surface) according to the road condition, how to slow down the car (for right braking, you have to apply pressure to pedal from least to most. No need on car which has ABS) is practically shown.

Skipping Obstacles and Braking
The possibility of uncontrolled slides during braking and change of directions according to weight transfers and the advantages of cars which has ABS during these maneuvers is practically shown.

Following distance and panic brake
The importance of following distance and applying techniques, the pendulum effect on car according to the panic steering at speeds is practically shown. The effect of the speed on pendulum effect is also practically shown.

Braking on slippery corners
The reason of sliding off which starts by the sudden brake at a fast entering corner and the change of the weight transfer is shown in this programme.
Showing why lowering the brake pressure is useless, releasing the brakes and waiting to enter the road line is the only thing must be done for to control the car is practically shown.

Oversteer and Understeer
Avoiding the effects of understeer and oversteer according to the speed and road condition, sudden accelerate and brake is shown during the programme. The techniques used during entering and exiting the corners, ideal deceleration and balanced throttle are practically shown.
